This is just to give you an idea of the pianos at our Dundas location. Currently there are about about 20 - 25 pianos there for you to try. We usually have used pianos for sale from Yamaha, Heintzman, Kawai, Mason and Risch, Willis, Nordheimer, and many others. Most are used, but there are a couple of new pianos from Heintzman and Pearl River there also. I try my best to keep this up to date, but sometimes there is just too much to do. Hand built using the finest woods this elegant satin ebony Knabe piano, with Louis XV style cabinetry, was manufactured in the 1930's during the golden age of piano building in the United States. Knabe Pianos at that time were arguably in the top five along with pianos like Steinway and Mason & Hamlin. The Metropolitan Opera House used Knabe pianos for forty years as their piano of choice.
The soundboard and bridges are in good condition. The board has no buzzing noises. The upper treble bridge has a bridge cap that has several cracks, but none are affecting the tone and are not a problem. The hammers have been replaced and sound great. The keytops have been replaced at some point with plastic.
The bench is adjustable and covered with leather. To replace the bench it would cost over $2,000.00
The piano has a strong, singing tone which Knabe is famous for.
